Principal Duties and Objectives

As Laboratory Support Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing all of APC’s labs ensuring that the equipment, supplies and environment are utilized in a safe and effective manner. Liaising with the Project teams and Management, you will ensure that APC operates to GLP in all aspect of the labs. 

  • Ensure that all equipment is within calibration and, in conjunction with the equipment owners, co-ordinate the PM schedules. Ensure that all PM and calibration records are reviewed, received and filed appropriately.
  • Responsible for high standards of safety, quality and operations within the labs via Leadership and Influence. Has lab presence and works with Lab personnel, Area Ownership and Functional Leads to ensure that laboratory is kept clean at all times, corrective actions are implemented and to coach laboratory personnel on best practice.
  • Participate in Equipment Change Control forum to assess for impact of onboarding, movement and decommissioning activities. With Quality and equipment owners, help define the required Calibration, IQ, OQ and PM needs.
  • Be a point of contact to manage external equipment service agents and scheduling of service visits.
  • Coordinate support staff to ensure that lab PPE, consumables and chemical supplies necessary for lab functions are readily available and that stock rooms are kept in good order.
  • Responsible for ensuring all deliveries are logged for laboratory inventory management.
  • Ensure all notifications regarding laboratory operations whereby they may be impacted are communicated in a timely manner
  • Ensure appropriate labelling for laboratories, equipment and chemicals are available to support and inform lab users.
  • Has overview of waste handling processes and procedures within the laboratory and ensure that all waste generated is disposed of in an efficient manner and to ensure compliance with required regulatory requirements.
  • Support the day to day operations of the laboratory as required. 

Minimum Requirements

  • Science / Technical Degree with a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in the operation of a busy laboratory within the manufacturing or R&D sector 
  • Experience working with regulated waste management, shipping and receiving operations
  • Proven track record in a similar role
  • Knowledge of laboratory operations best practice systems
  • Experienced in laboratory equipment and maintenance practices
  • Good decision maker and ability to work on own initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication, facilitation, organizational and planning skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
